AdWords Analyzer is a keyword research tool which I have been trialing over the last few weeks. AWA not only gives you a list of related keywords but also the number of searches, search results, search/results ratio, Google AdWords campaigns and Yahoo (Overture) campaigns. I found AWA to be extremely effective and time-saving.
By simply punching in a keyword you can see how often that keyword, and a list of related keywords, were searched for at Overture in the previous month and the number of Google AdWord campaigns running for that keyword.
AdWords Analyzer also compares searches to matches and helps you target keywords with a favourable supply/demand ratio. To rank well in the search engines you need to optimise your site for keywords that have a lot of searches (demand) but a relatively low number of matches (supply). AWA lets you quickly find profitable keyword phrases.
AdWords Analyzer is also very handy tool for minimising your costs for Pay-per-Click advertising such as Google AdWords and Overture.
AdWords Analyzer is not only great for running successful Google AdWords campaigns, but also for:
* researching keywords for general search engine optimisation
* optimising your site to attract high-paying AdSense ads
* researching Overture Pay-Per-Click campaigns
AdWords Analyzer works hand-in-hand with another excellent resource called GoogleCash. The author of this book is getting stunning results (all documented) promoting affiliate programs using Google AdWords. It's a great read. And, very inspiring.
Here's an example of how I've used these two resources to improve my results:
I'm an affiliate of a Satellite TV installation company. The usual keywords associated with satellite TV are all highly bidded for and the company has a high number of affiliates. But by doing a bit of research and using the resources in GoogleCash I discovered that people who search for satellite TV also search for "soccer TV".
Soccer TV is a website which displays programming info on soccer matches which are broadcast on satellite TV. By using AdWords Analyzer I determined that "soccer TV" had a high number of searches and NO AdWords campaigns. As a result my ad gets a CTR of 3.9% for "soccer TV" and 10.2% for "soccertv.com" for a cost of only 5 cents (US) per click. And, I'm making sales! By the way, VMC Satellite has a great affiliate program which pays on 3 levels.
My conclusion: AdWords Analyzer is a great research tool which I've been using constantly since I purchased it. If you want to be successful at using Google AdWords, don't do what everybody else is doing i.e. trying to outbid them on popular keywords. It's money wasted. Think outside the square and research your keywords and PPC campaigns. It will pay off!
Update:
Adwords Analyzer is now up to version 3.0 and MUCH improved. The clunky interface of the original version has gone and in its place a much slicker version. Other improvements include:
* CPC (cost per click) data
* The estimated amount of clicks
* Advanced 8-option filtering system
* Ability to create your own custom filters
* Ability to save full Ad Word Analyzer reports
